Carillion rolls out MSite biometric workforce management solution free RSS news feed from the Biometric News Portal

Human Recognition Systems (HRS) has signed a nationwide supplier framework agreement with Carillion. The framework will see the roll-out of MSite - a biometric workforce management solution – to the majority of Carillion’s UK-based construction projects.

The framework agreement is the culmination of a long-term partnership between the organisations to develop a centralised reporting capability, which allows site level reports to be accessed centrally from Carillion’s head office in Wolverhampton.

MSite manages various streams of data on construction sites, including details of individuals’ Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS), real-time muster reports, site safety records, time and attendance reports and financial reporting of hours worked.

It is anticipated that the system will be adopted at a rate of 40-50 sites per year.
HRS has also recently teamed up with Speedy Space to offer MSite as a rental model. The MSite solution is housed in Speedy’s anti-vandal cabin and is delivered to site ready for use.

Adrian Davies, Supply Chain Director at Carillion said: “Our framework agreement with HRS is the culmination of a four-year partnership - we have been working closely together to develop MSite, which adds considerable value in workforce management across our sites on an individual level and now, with the introduction of centralised reporting, at corporate level.”

Nick Wilkinson, Business Development Manager (Construction) at HRS, said: “The development of the Carillion partnership comes on the back of considerable research into how best to take advantage of the substantial benefits from being able to capture information from individual sites centrally.

“HRS developed a data transfer management (DTM) application in close consultation with Carillion to ensure that it was designed to meet specific requirements. The DTM application collates all reports from each MSite system installed on Carillion sites nationally and inserts it into Carillion’s central engine.

“The project was rolled out in a phased approach with Carillion’s project and operations managers to ensure that the new application met key goals and clearly defined milestones.

“Signing a national framework agreement with a company of Carillion’s stature for us, reinforces the value MSite has to offer the construction industry - we’re now looking forward to working with Carillion for many years to come.”
