Frostree deploys biometric fingerprint scanner to record time and attendance free RSS news feed from the Biometric News Portal

16 December 2009
Fenestration manufacturer Frostree Ltd has deployed a biometric fingerprint scanner to record time and attendance in its brand new factory in Stockton.

The biometric time and attendance system was supplied and fitted by Blaydon based North East Time Recorders and will automatically calculate payroll, saving on administration costs. There is an added health and safety benefit since the system provides accurate information on exactly who is in the building in the event of emergency. The biometric system is the latest in a long line of attendance systems Frostree have commissioned from North East Time Recorders over two decades.

The family run firm plans to grow from a current workforce of thirty, to fifty employees within twelve months. Frostree has invested heavily in computer controlled manufacturing and administration systems that will enable the firm to bid for bigger orders across the North of England. The new factory will enable Frostree to overcome seasonal work surges caused by their heavy involvement in the education sector when work must be completed over the summer holidays.

Frostree Managing Director Neil Snowdon said: “The biometric time and attendance system is the latest of its type and the final installation in one of the most up to date manufacturing facilities of its kind in the UK. Now that we have the space and technology we need, we plan to protect the jobs of our thirty employees and provide at least twenty more over the coming year. Our order book is healthy so now it is a matter of gearing up supply, maintaining our quality standards and meeting demand”.

North East Time recorders Director Chris Routledge said: “We are delighted to continue our long association with Frostree and we wish them every success in the new factory and with their expansion plans”.
